Apparently the man at the window of the Pea Green Boat had been watching us naked.
Shame we didn't get a nudie photo eh?
I bet you are tempted to roll over the photo with the mouse...

MONKEY BIRTHDAY PARTY
Click logo to return to Displays menu

Everybody gathered after dinner to enjoy the party together...

There were loads and loads of lovely presents to open.

Lissa and Mokey watched intently as Minkey opened a present...

it was a book from Mokey for Minkey which Lisa had a sneaky peek at!

Mokey gave Minkey a shoe full of little goodies. Minkey seemed to like the shoe best and was a bit confused as to where the other shoe was.

The presents just kept coming. What lucky little monkeys they were.

The fabulous banana brooches from Karen, Hollie and Willow went straight on the new camp blankets Lissa and Hazel had made.

Mokey and Minkey were utterly delighted with their bags of bananas and gobbled them up over the next few days.

Minkey and Mokey hung around while the cake was baked (?)(hmmm...)

Not just candles for these birthday girls - super sparklers on a chocolate cake with mini bananas and jelly monkey faces.

At the tender age of one year old, Minkey licked birthday cake out of the bowl...

while three year old Mokey knew that it's politer to use a spoon.

We let off balloons...

to see whose could go the furthest.

Lisa's balloon insisted in blowing up bent when other peoples went straight.
I guess it was just a blue banana.

Simon stunned almost all of us with his balloon modelling skills... a yellow swan...

...a cute little blue rabbit with which Sue and Hazel were obviously well impressed...

a red dog ...

... a yellow giraffe... and Simon making something green .

It was a pink flower which the swans pecked at.
Minkey and Mokey blew party squeakers as loudly as they could.

Then we played badminton and volleyball until...

it got ridiculously dark. So we all went home to bed.

FRIDAY PARADE AND FIREWORKS

Team Lumbawakk plus two visiting parents Joan and Donald at the far end.

Three chilly monkeys!

Silver Flame Shouty Lady spotted Minkey & Mokey and came over for a quick hand shake.

Lovely lass from from Maple Morris came to hug the monkeys

Two warm furry monkeys watch the Stone Monkeys

Lissa and Mokey are delighted to see Hexham Morris go by.

Newcastle Kingsman drumming on Jumping Stilts

Scarily tall stilt man with toothache?
And finally after all the parade had doused their torches in the sea, we all enjoyed the fireworks.

THE BRUNIERS AND TOWNENDS WENT FISHING AT BEER

Thierry steered us out to see then we all had a chance to be Captain.

Roll your mouse over Captain Hollie to get her to wink!

Hollie smiled a slightly nauseous smile as Will steers the boat...

As Karen steered, the clouds darkened.

We all kept smiling. Then the rain came down and we got drenched!

YAY we caught a fish. Ony one, but it was good.
Here's the truth as Awesome Angler Karen saw it...

The truth as everyone else saw it.
But it was bigger and better than all the rest of us caught together...

Hazel and Alan prepared and cooked the mackerel in the caravan and out of sight!

And everyone except Hollie tried a bit of mackerel on toast.
Even Karen and Willow were brave. Here's Willow's face BEFORE she tried it.

THE BRUNIERS AND TOWNENDS WENT CRABBING AT SEATON
We used liver and kidney as bait in Persil washing tablet bags
We caught bucketfuls of crabs.
Then we raced them down the jetty. Ready...
steady...
GO!
THE BRUNIERS AND TOWNENDS WENT TO DAWLISH
Willow and Lissa's idea of beach fun... the sea...

while Hollie and Alan preferred the sand.

Willow the Pirate...

One evening we enjoyed a walk along the coast, from Dawlish Warren, up onto the red Langstone Rock separated from the mainland by Brunel's railway cutting and along to Dawlish Town.

The rock has steep cliffs - here's the view down, but Hazel was too scared to go anywhere near the edge!

We saw the famous black swans of Dawlish on the pleasant fairy-lit river in the park.

We were trying to get Lissa to take a photo of the rabbit on the rock!

Here we are taking a brief break to rest Karen's purple toe.

One evening we watched a display by the hunky Dawlish lifeguards.
Lissa, Hollie and Willow fell over themselves to pose with the guys (and one babe)!

SUE AND SIMON WENT TO WOOLACOMBE

Simon went to Woolacombe to go surfing while Sue sunbathed in her teeny weeny bikini.

Sadly though they came home days earlier than planned because they didn't enjoy everything there.

1. The campsite had knee-length grass and was very sloping.
2. The seaside parking fees were extortionate.
3. It rained and was very windy - so much so that they got up at 1.30am to take the awning down.

And they told us that they arrived home to loads of young people in the house and on the driveway enjoying a party...
