2011 Friday 11th March - 23rd Didcot Cubs
The Cubs and their leaders should be well proud of the dancing they did with Lumbawakk as part of their Activity Badge.
We had a major turnout of 17 Lumbawakkers and with six first-time Lumbawakk dance-outers - George, Joanne, Dot, Keith, Diana and John. We did double rapper (where George lost his hat) and Panda (number 3) got carried away and followed Simon in MaryAnn before doing an awe-inspiring somersault.
Then we had a dozen dance Jacobs Ladder to a band of five - Thierry, Hazel, Alan, John and Diana. Perfect timing, no ooopsies to report! Nicely separated into two small circles for Bonfire.
Then onto the main part of the evening - Tinners Rabbit with about 18 cubs and their leaders. With some excellent bossing-about by Thierry and some pantomime antics by the band, the Cuibs were delighted when the band eventually agreed that they had danced better than the Brownies! We were all a bit worried the roof miught blow off with the volume of the HOY! In fact we all enjoyed it so much we did the whole dance again.
We finished with the most scary part - Question and Answer time with some extremely clever Cubs asking us questions like why we danced with monkeys, how old the monkeys were, how long we had been dancing for, why we wear face paint, ...
Buzz Factor for this occasion was definitely right at the top of the scale. Thank you Di Chesterman for the invitation. See you at Bunkfest...
