2010 - December - Mokey and Minkey's Christmas Holiday

Mokey invited Minkey to spend Christmas with her. Here is their photo album:

Day 1: Wednesday.
Minkey and Mokey skipped all the way to Mokey's house and had great fun dressing up in each others clothes and generally trashing their bedroom. Then they curled up in their beds and slept like babies. Good babies. Who sleep all night.

Day 2: Thursday.
Mokey and Mokey spent a very happy day singing, dancing and playing. They enjoyed their advent chocolates while watching King Kong on television.

Then they fell asleep in their crib in Lissa's bedroom. They were lovely and warm even though there was a sprinkling of snow and sub-zero temperatures outside.
Day 3: Friday.
Minkey and Mokey spent the morning playing Twister.

After an afternoon nap Mokey showed Minkey how to phone Santa to make sure that he knows where she is this Christmas.
Minkey thought " Tee hee hee. Tonight's the night.
We're home alone for an hour or two this evening - so way hay - it's time to stuff our faces
with marshmallows and jump on the beds to see who is gonna be sick first!
Jess and Lisa play this game all the time. Mokey said she's never done that before, but
I'm not sure I believe her..."

Mokey said "Remember what Santa said about the Good List and the Bad List."

Minkey decided that they could eat the marshmallows then read books instead.

What a Good Girl.

Day 4: Saturday.
Mokey and Minkey climbed the Christmas tree and stayed at the top watching what everyone else was doing.

They saw the snow falling three inches deep in the garden and then they saw Alan and Lissa each open a Christmas present! Cheeky monkeys!!

Day 5: Sunday
We enjoyed a glass of special banana wine while the Bruniers at their dinner and drank grape wine.

Day 6: Monday.

We played in the snow. It was GREAT fun! Minkey threw a snowball and got it through the basketball hoop. What a clever monkey. Mokey spotted a present for Minkey on the tree and had a quick squeeze. A nice big banana she reckons... but Minkey is hoping it's something else...

Day 7: Tuesday.

It's Hazel's birthday tomorrow so we helped Thierry, Lissa and Alan bake and decorate a cake for her. Didn't we do well?

Our favourite bit was licking out the icing bowl. We even made doing the washing up fun, but we had better not tell you about splashing the bubbles about or you might think we were a little bit naughty. It was just fun. Not Naughty because we dried the floor up without being asked.

Day 8: Wednesday.

We helped blow out the candles.

We helped eat the cake.

We helped open the presents.

Gee it's SOOOO hard being SOOOO good for SOOOO long.

Just going for a quick siesta now...
to catch up on lost sleep...

Day 9: Thursday

Would you believe they sent a snow plough down Tamar Way last night? Yes they really really did.

The road is ALL black now! The partly thawed snow froze last night so it’s really slippery today and there are icicles on the traffic lights!

I’m so glad I’m snuggled up here rather than being home alone at my house. We’re having a lovely time.

Today we’re playing games like HideAndSeek, ChubbyBunnies and TruthOrDare. I had to kiss Thierry!! I think I might like to do it again!!!

We’re going to have a snowball now – advocaat and lemonade!!

Day 10: Friday. Christmas Eve.

We watched a a film this afternoon called "Curious George - A Very Monkey Christmas" on CITV where Curious George the Monkey and the Man in the Yellow Hat tried to choose a good Christmas present for each other. Curious George drew a big picture for the man of all the lovely Christmas things they'd been doing and the man gave George a drum, a train and an aeroplane which George was delighted with.

We joined in all the songs like "Christmas Monkey" and we danced and jumped on Hazel's bed. It was brilliant fun. Both us us kissed the TV screen because we thought Curious George was lush.

We might change Awesome George's name to Curious George!! Or perhaps not.

Last night we stayed up really really late and today we got up really really early so that tonight we're really really tired and can go to sleep really really early so Father Christmas can see what really really Good monkeys we are and leave us really really lovely presents...

Day 11: Christmas Day

Boy oh boy it was worth being Good! Father Christmas stuffed our stockings FULL and Alan and Lissa bought us goodies too.

Mokey is really good company and we haven't argued at all. Just occasionally I've said I'd like a little bit of time alone because you know how I like that sometimes and Mokey is like that too so it's worked out even better than I hoped.

We have got lots of sweeties and sweeties and hair scrunchie necklaces and tree decorations and bath fizzers and something each that is really special.

I don't just mean special, but really really really really really special.

You won't believe it but...

... I got a baby!

... and so did Mokey!!

Just like Mary and Elizabeth!!!

My baby is called Minie because it's mine and Mokey's baby is called Minnie because she's not very big. We don't quite know whether Minie's a boy or girl yet and are going to ask Jess to check because she's nearly a midwife already and so she knows all about these things. If she doesn't we'll have to think of another way to find out...

We ate all of our Christmas dinner and then we went sledging. On snow - not water like you!

It was so much fun and the babies laughed and laughed and laughed.

Tonight we're going to have some of the posh hot chocolate you gave us all for Christmas with marshmallows on top for supper. Thank you very much - what a treat!

We're going to have trouble uploading photos for a few days because the computer is going to be out of action. But we will still be able to get emails on the laptop so will keep in touch.

Don't worry about us at all. We'll be having a great time, and you'll be back home before you can say Happy New Year! XXxx

Boxing Day to New Year

Oh we've been so busy. We did our makeup...

we drove to a New Year's party and stayed up later than we have ever stayed up before!

We danced and drank and popped party poppers!!

Happy New Year 2011 everyone - we love you all!!

And we had lots of hugs from Willow and Hollie who were at Sidmouth 2010 with us and from lots of new friends too!
