2010 July - Pub dance out in the Hendreds with Icknield Way, Kennet and Garston Gallopers
Having spent the afternoon at Meadows Day centre we spent the evening dancing
at The Hare in West Hendred then The Plough in East Hendred - two hours, four
dances
each
team
per pub.
A thoroughly
enjoyable
evening.
One
highlight
was discovering that we have a serial cyber-stalker! Joanne from Garston Gallopers
who has been having a real laugh watching all
our videos - and loved the commentary from St Johns Fete having suffered similarly
at a fete a few weeks earlier.
Another highlight was Josh and the shoe wind-up. Josh acquired some amazing new shoes which he claimed fitted better than his own, but turned out to be his own. How? Josh went to the cinema before going to James house for tea then straight on to the dance out. He phoned the squires from the cinema to say he'd forgotten his shoes and could he borrow some from Alan. They nipped round his house without telling him and got some from his mother and presented them to him at the dance out claiming they were Alan's old shoes! Ha ha ha ha - stitched up like a kipper - he made so many unknowingly funny comments all night about the shoes and we all knew they were his!!!
We had a good session afterwards with the other musicians but had to leave soon after 11pm amidst much "see you at Sidmouth" "see you at Bunkfest". Thank you Icknield Way for the excellent invitation.

![]() Dusk fell and the phots became more blurred. Either that or we started moving faster! |
We moved on to the Plough in East Hendred. |

![]() Icknield Way not-dancing-dancer describes in detail what Icknield Way dancers are doing - a six person dance with twelve people, intricately interwoven but not just two sets side by side. Think it was Shepherds Hey. |
Night fell and Josh and James's animal insticts came to the fore. |
