2010 - Saturday 4th July

Once again the Barrow Laners invited us to spoil what would have been a nice quiet do. Will they never learn?
Instead of standing around chatting politely in a peaceful country lane with neighbours and friends, they were submitted to compulsory audience participation barn dances and border morris alongside colourful displays of rapper sword and border morris and lively music from guitar, violin and accordions. Dreadful shame.
Yet strangely, they seemed to enjoy it!

Many thanks to Janet and the crew for inviting us and feeding us and making us feel well loved.

OUR MEMBERS THERE were Alan Andy Ben Hazel Lisa Lissa Jess Sam Sally Simon Sue Thierry and Tom.
Our special Lumbawakk guest was Malcom who came to call the barn dances - he was jolly good and got them all going from the shortest to the tallest, fattest to thinnest, oldest and youngest. Thank you Malcom. Thank you to Andy for all your special entertainment some of which you may not remember, and to Tom, Sam and Andy again who proved that they hadn't forget border or rapper even though they hadn't done it for months and months...

Tinners Rabbit

Double Rapper Runaway Train...kind of...

Andy Sam Tom and Ben. Guess who was getting tipsy....
Here's a clue...in case you hadn't realised...
And here's Sue - unbelievably without the aid of alcohol despite sui-cider being on tap.

Lisa's special "I want Pimms" smile and Lissa thinking "Cider!" Being under age, they only thought about it....
We didn't sit around drinking and eating till after we'd danced our little socks off: Four Fairy Dance, Go Mauve, Noughts and Crosses, Tinners, Runaway Train, Three around Three and Rapper to name but seven!
HOY!

This Daddy brought his two charming children up for a quick dance after Tinners had finished. Hazel bossed them around while Alan twinkled.

Perhaps the children weren't as charming as initially believed. Here they've created their very own move. Poor Daddy!!

A musical session with Jack to round off a splendid evening. Potential recruit - he would be a real asset.
