2008 September - St Ives Carnival Cambridgeshire

 

 

We hired a trailer from the farm we were camping at and danced two and a half miles from the outskirts of St Ives in a modern housing estate right through the town centre into the recreation ground. The weather was threatening to rain at first, but then was just cloudy and fine. We learned the hard way that it was too far to dance! By the next parade at Sounth Hinksey we had learned how to process in style without exhausting ourselves.

We had volunteered to to a display in the arena at the end, but had not been put on the programme so we didn't. So there! We went round the stalls instead and ate hog roast sandwiches.
